Miss Piggy will get licked all over

It seems remarkable but Jim Henson's "Sam and Friends" which introduced Kermit, Miss Piggy, the Swedish Chef, and Dr. Bunson Honeydew and his assistant Beaker started 50 Years ago.

The puppets are to feature in a set of 20, new 37 Cent stamps to be launched on Thursday to celebrate their longevity .... although I'll swear Miss Piggy doesn't look a day older.The stamps include a 1986 Norman Seeff photograph of Henson accompanied by his visionary quote: "When I was young, my ambition was to be one of the people who made a difference in this world. My hope is to leave the world a little bit better for my having been there."
