RT. Hon. Jack Straw orders 'torture evidence' review

Jimmy Burns, James Blitz and Jean Eaglesham of the Financial Times reported this on October 16 2004.

"A review of the legality of using counter-terrorism evidence from other countries that might have been obtained by torture has been ordered by Jack Straw, the Foreign Secretary."

Jack Straw said “Just in terms of moral calculus, [what] if we had been told through liaison partners that 11 September was going to happen with all the details. Now torture is completely unacceptable and [we would] query whether that was the reason why we got the information ... but you cannot ignore it if the price of ignoring it is 3,000 people dead.” Independent, 11 March 2005.

Has this review undertaken by FO legal eagle Sir Michael Wood been published ...? No. Would you like to see a copy ?
